“One bite won't hurt.”
Can I trust this snake? It’s all I know, yet it’s scary.
The apple, it shined with my name engraed.
“One bite won't hurt.”
It reaches towards the prayer I’ve always said if I do
But why does this feel wrong?
My hands shake as the apple I’ve yearned to grasp up is inches away
Why can’t I take it?
“One bite wont hurt”
The snake repeated, and the words sound comforting, and true.
It lays in my hand now, and my lips press against that apple, yet I wonder once more with my concern.
What if a bite, does hurt?
